Where before, the game was basically a strategic war game, and it still is, now, at least for me while this is all new, each warp point, each quadrant, each planet and asteriod cluster is a new mystery.
The FQM has made exploration "exciting". Don't even think of using that "ancient race" trait, for a few games anyway, you'll ruin all your fun.

Yeah, my thoughts exactely. I've even named my first scoutship "The Imperator" to honour the maker of this beautiful new universe
Anyway, it feels like a whole new game to me.
