I didn't realize that untill you mentioned the sunlight. I guess Peter Jackson aplied a couple tons of sun lotion on them.....
Funny that you say that. You are right. But I remember in RotK (book) that in the final battle at the gate there are Trolls, too. Not in bright light but at daytime. Strange. Or does my memory fail me?
