It is a pure AI issue. Thy might be exactly the same design but supposedly AI uses "attack ships" for attacking and keep "defence ships" in home systems for defence. Apparently, according to Gandalf (thanks ! It is good to know), AI no longer destinguish between them. It should be usefull for improving AI shipbuilding.
