Umm... I'm not following the logic of that paragraph. If you have an xyz coordinate grid, or even an xy coordinate plane (or just a x number line), then you can move in x and -x directions. Why do you say you can't? Where do you get the x dimension does not exist? It must exist if you have xyz coordinate grid...
