First of all, there is a Zip for Windows from PKware, the inventors of ZIP format. It's just called 'PKZip for Windows' as far as I know. Find it at
www.pkware.com IIRC?
There is also Quickzip, which handles lots of other formats but it's a little bit buggy. It can't handle multi-file archives in RAR format, even though it claims it can for example. And it will skip several files when extracting a ZIP if it hits a file with a bad CRC, which means you need another program to extract the file(s) it skips.

Still, it's nice in many ways. I do use it. Find it at
www.quickzip.org if you want to try it.
