Atrocities, if you have burn out on SE IV, and are waiting for SE V, you could perhaps find an interest in a game similar in depth, but set in an heroic fantasy settings (not unlike Master of Magic): Dominions. You can grab a demo at Illwinter.com
The graphics are so-so, but I'm sure if you will see the jewel behind the crude stone.
I'm spending half of my game time on PBEM dominions, and the remaining half in learning SE IV as of now
