Aye. I've commented on that to Malfador -- that it's a bit strange that a medical lab capable of curing an entire colony could be built on a ship, but not on land.

A note on medical labs -- Last I checked (actually, it's been a while since I was plagued, so maybe it was changed by a patch?), the plague damage occurred before the medical lab cured it, so you still take one turn of damage. You have to use a ship w/ a sufficiently high medical lab over there in the same turn to cure w/o loss.
