Most of the race mounts give a decrease in size or cost. Some offer better range and better accuracy.

I challenge you to make any ship with the Large/Massive/Huge type mounts with the sames specs/tonnage etc vs an unmounted ship with the same weapons You'll lose the mounted ship 90% of the time
