You are correct in that regard. Stock is more balanced. However most players won't see a benifit from capturing other races ship until later in the game. (Hopefully)

Indeed Atrocities, I'm rarely usssing ship capture in stock games, but with your mod I'm always do some Roll playing.
And the most honorable way for a Klingon to kill your enemy is by Batleth instead of Disruptors, although they are very pleased when they blow you to peace, no matter in which way.....
