I prefer larger, more populated games. My favorite pick is Large, Cluster bt the AI doesnt know how to use chokepoints so more often than not im using Large, Spiral Arm. Intel is a limited fun, i think, but is still an aspect of the game and i always leave it. As for attacks, i try not to declare war on anything that is there, but when i attack i prefer simultaneous attacks from different points - and i usually go after planets, preferably those who are heavily guarded and/or have high values - losing those will surely hurt the other.
