AI from that latest update can give a run for you money
I optimized them for low AI bonuses, low tech start and one homeworld. I also recomend simultaneous movements, even for solo games. There is a SE bug that prevents AI to operate big sized cargo - like 1M population in proportions - in classic turn-based movement games.
