It is very easy to get your money back for a faulty (or even just unwanted) product in US stores (not even anything to do with the web

). Just go in, say this is broke, and you get a refund. Some stores only do store credit, especially on things like opened CD products and such. But that is nearly as good.

If it isn't opened/used, you can usually get a cash refund on it. Not all stores are the same, but the vast majority have no hassle refund policies. And I don't think it has anything to do with some draconian laws...
