Perhaps you should reread that chapter?  Faramir was tempted by the ring, but was able to resist it, and stocked Frodo and Sam up with supplies while they were in the hideout and sent them on their way. As was said before, the movie did a 180 on his character.
Check out the extended-special-DVD-Alpha-Turbo-Gold-Ultra-Wide-Fast edition. It's got some extra stuff on that scene that is very nice, although still different than the book. |
