The gaming industry in general is slowly approaching maturity. Whats going to happen is the same as happens in every other industry that grows out of the boom phase. The mass marked will be dominated by a few large companies with some niche companies (like Shrapnel) providing games for the fringe markets (like us
). Expect to see an even higher number of bankruptcies, mergers and acquisitions in the gaming industry over the next few years.
PC vs Console. Some types of games just plays better on one type of system. But, it’s the money who rules; if there’s a market then there will be suppliers.
