The problem with the lie is, you have Groups like metallica and other promoting it.
They own the record company so therefore they stand to loose money. (Just a theory though.)
Additionally, the record companies employ the RIAA to say that p2p file swappping is taking money away from the song artists. If you apply that standard to the movie industry then it would go something like this: p2p file swapping of movies is taking money away from the actors. The thing here though is Hollywood knows better than to try something like that.
