This is very wrong. Fresh water comprises a small fraction of the water available on the planet. You can't drink salt water, some of the 'fresh' water is polluted beyond drinkability, some of it is too deep to access or locked up in inaccessable ice, etc.

All of these can be solved, but doing that takes energy. Quite a lot of it in some cases.
