I find the more amusing approach, as it pertains to deception, is the following:

Walk softly and don't tell them what kind of stick I have behind me. Imply that its a good thing that I am 6 feet tall and that being any shorter would possibly reveal the stick. And don't make me prove how big the stick is or is not!
