Not 'all', just the ones who eat the traditional diet of mostly rice. And it's the rice that stunts them. There is an enzyme in it that inhibits the absorption of iron and the lack of iron slows their growth down. When they come to the US and start eating like Americans they get taller (and unfortunately also get the same diet-related diseases as other Americans...  ) |
