My own collection of small shanges to encourage variety via ability tradeoffs:
- high tech armor is stronger than shields (1kt armor IX -> 14 HP) (but it has to be repaired after battle, often 40-50 components lost)
- phased shields are weaker than normal shields. (Stop PPBs or absorb more WMGs?)
- All shields provide token regen (1-5 pts) (for atmosphere)
-PDCs vs PDLasers (damage vs range tradeoff)
-Pirate shipyard (tiny yard build w. 300 repairs 1 100kt)
-Machine shop. (tiny repair comp - repairs 1/turn, 40 or 20kt)
