Keep in mind that 5000 number is not SEIV alone. The majority of them are members in other forums here at Shrapnel.
I don't know about that... SEIV probably has attracted a decently large majority of the people that have registered on these forums... It had a huge majority before Dominions 2 came about. It might change in a year or two, but probably not yet... 
Ok, so my choice word of majority was off a bit, but still I am saying a good sized portion, perhaps not the majority, are registered to view the other forums.
