I'm sure some of these have been suggested previously but too many Posts to read
- how about planetary assault troops that can be launched from a distance like fighters
- change the unit of population from 1 million to something more reasonable, like 10's of thousands (ie 1 pop = 10,000 people) - this is one of my pet peeves
- make only missiles able to damage planets
- limit the size of ships through certain warp points
- have facilities controlled by pop levels on planets, ie a shipyard needs 15 pop to operate, a mining facility 5 pop - that way you could build as many facilities a s you want but you need the people to actually have it produce
