Default Re: [MP Game] The Eye of Chaos

The Beginning of the Scouring (Part 3)

"Here it was that Zenophon was filled with the pride of knowledge. All around him came the scream of dead and dying and his reach grew long. The dead and living, now thralls to the dark power of greed began the great work of the material. Citadels rose like the jagged blackened teeth of a great beast from below the world. Temples were constructed and the black mass was born. From lands afar did they flock, these living wishing the promise of the dead. Deep in the graveyards did they travel and the dead rose in greater numbers, howling destruction at their service.

The nation of Man had grown, it's monks and men of faith to the south kept to their land and so Zenophon was pleased. His was the council of wisdom for he sought the power and not the lands of flesh and bone.

Far against the horizon the sky was littered with dying stars and those who would watch. And elder people that memories stirred within the age of Ermor. They too were left without thought of such flesh and blood.

Those who breathed water were too, left without thought. For their home beneath the wave did not tempt Zenophon with promises of power.

The Last was the wilds of nature. Ever did things growing abhor those things wrapped in death's comfort. And so it was that the children of Nature kept from Zenophon the secrets of the land and he was angered.

The call was given and the hordes began their path. The grind and twisting of innumerable bones and the whispers of souls from the past formed the ranks of the legions of Ermor. As it had ages before they marched with the pride and strength of countless lives.

The drums rang now and the ground blackened. These halfmen would be driven from their groves and their sacred places within the earth. Zenophon was pleased and his search continued and his rise was all encompassing."
