Level 2 Chemistry now opens up the research area of Resource Manipulation. This lets you build Resource Converters, that enable conVersion of resources, the higher the level of the facility, the lower the percentage loss in conVersion. Resource Manipulation also lets you build Ultra-Recyclers, which enable you to reclaim a higher percentage of the resources from scrapped ships. I have to say I am highly impressed with the amount of thought that obviously went into this design, not to mention the delicious subtlety of it all...
