Actually, I won't be all that heartbroken if it's changed. Are they gonna change it for research facilities/computers too? The same formula should apply to them, and I'll miss that a lot more.

I really don't think that the cumulative effect is unbalanced, especially when it takes so much longer to build a factory.

As for needing to do the algebra, I don't think it's necessary to do that to compete. I did the math out because it was fun and interesting to see that kind of complexity in the game.
