It might be useful in reminding you why you colonized the planet in the first place -- which might be important because in one turn you can colonize many planets, and you don't get a chance to set their build queues until all of them are colonized. (Idea -- allow a label to correspond to a template queue...) So if you at one point realize that you need more research or intel, badly, you don't just build resource facilities on all those worlds, and so forth.
