I've only noticed it with the keyboard too, and it only happens then if you're trying to do a really long, sharp turn. If you don't do such hard turns it doesn't happen (say take a hard right for a bit, then let off it, and when you start to slow down in your turn rate, then start turning again). It usually works fairly well.
