The concept of the tech levels is pretty crappy in my opinion...especially for things like fighterbays...they get a higher techlevel, cost more money but are EXACTLY the same as the levels before were.
Furthermore it makes the game increasingly difficult...the shields upgade more than the weapons do...at some point you just dont get through anymore *hehe*
