While protecting the Erin Starbase, I got close enough to the Neckron warp point that Xiati Battleship appeared on top of my Carrier.
(You get your orders at the Erin Starbase, and have to protect the Erin Starbase from inbound Xiati ships.)
Took me a few seconds to figure out why everything had gone red, yet not quite dead. Close though. Took most of my plates to fix things back up.
New rule: Stay away from warp points that ships are going to appear at.
Of course, this rule is only useful when the campaign is creating inbound ships to the system you are in.
But having a ship appear right on top of you is, umm, amusing? And I thought I had found all the ways to kill my own ship.
