I can understand why you're not giving it away, but I hope you consider some sort of streamlined "quick start" rules, so that people aren't simply overwhelmed by what this complex game. This is even turning off some of the normally hardcore gamers on usenet...

All you'd need would be some brief blurbs walking new players through getting a game started, and their initial first moves. A stock tutorial would do the trick.
