Could anyone tell how DOM2 actually numbers them?
(Especially in comparison to DOM1) ?

And in writing dom2map, too. 
It seems to be latitude-major, with southernmost provinces receiving the lowest number (the reverse of Dom I). I don't yet know how ties in latitude are broken, although it would be pretty easy to make a test map to check.
