Toughness and magic resistance both have a price. You won't lose a Starspawn to a Seeking Arrow or a Murdering Winter or rituals like these. Theurgs OTOH are frail and die easily to these spells.

They're very versatile mages, and in more than one occasion the random picks I got on them dictated my research plan and my strategy. Usually to get the best out of them on the battlefield you want them (or at least some of them) lead a communion. You can do wonders with just 4 communion slaves.

It's not. R'lyeh is a very dangerous nations but it has its own issues. And I expect it to be toned down when the paralyzation duration gets fixed.
