Well, the chance of losing it to a soul slay goes from around 4% to around 1% if you raise the magic resistance to 24. It probably is a matter of determining what your enemies can do to counter it, since you've spent at least a hundred astral pearls to wish for it, and 20 nature gems to make it a commander, not counting the empowerment costs to get there.
