Are you sure that non-hosts need that file? Is there official word on that? It´s important to settle that, because I don´t want players to be able to accidentally host -which might well happen if I send them the host-file?!?

This is incorrect - non-hosts never need the ftherland file. Ever. I'm currently running 4 PBEM games and the only thing I ever send is each player's .trn file.
