If you click on the 12, you get a summary of all of the factors geeting you to 12 (base morale, friendly domain, home province, bless, starving, etc.)

lol, I've been playing this for 3 weeks straight and had no idea you could do this. Wonderful!

also pressing 'E' highlights all experienced units, as a kindly turn tip just reminded me.
