Eye candy is not the determining factor in the playability or fun of scenarios for everybody. Personally, while I like looking at beautiful maps, I tend to value the actual setup and gameplay higher, and the worldwar scenario has a very nice setup. 
That does not mean that I would not appreciate a more beautiful worldmap, of course, but it is not essential to my enjoyment.
The default maps are at least functional...the world map is a horrific mess of a totally incomprehensible coloration. I felt as if someone poked me in the eye with an electric cattle prod after I fired it up... |
