Some of us, such as myself, actually majored in physics. Astrophysics in my case, rather than particle physics, but string theory bears on cosmology, so I'm fairly well-acquainted with it.

OTOH, I have no idea how Gandalf derives a connection to so-called "intelligent design" (aka creationism) from string theory.
