Yeah, I do that. I name units after people from my site, in a manner that befits their schtick, so I can always remember what that commander was supposed to be doing.

Another fun thing I do is to name all of my SCs of a specific identical type the exact same thing, so the enemy has no idea how many of them I actually have. Walk softly, and don't let them know what kind of stick you have behind you.
