With enough experience (four stars I think it was) you do indeed get a -1 enc. There's no additional bonus save stat increase.

All attacks are directed towards a single square. You can kill more than one target if the units are small enough. Quickness from spell, ability or items gives you an additional action allowing a unit to attack a new square in the same round.
