1) only 1 move in sea provinces.
3) It's just an even, I've seen it happen quite often. It could be scale-related so it only happens if you pick the right (or actually the wrong) scales.
4) -1 means that you started with 1 and ended with 2. There are plenty of spells that cause this, charm and enslave mind for example. I think lord of the hunt can cast charm all right. Due to the nature of the battle I think it's only normal that you didn't get to keep him.
