I considered that possibility, but ruled it out, because his water magic didn't increase as well: If he gained a +2 astral not from empowerment, but from the bug, and then kept his +2 from items, why did he not get a permanent +1 from the bracelet? Why did he only have his base water-3, +1 for a water bracelet? It's not consistent.

Well, the nation that presumably Last possessed him, Abysia, was AI-controlled at the time. Who knows what goes through the mind of the AI? |
