Simply the fire protection given from Burning Pearl (100%) protected him from fire spells, but not from the heat aura of the Abysyan HI.
It's fine that FR protects from direct damage, but the heat that makes you swear and fatigue isn't damage and so it avoid to be resisted, or it's a bug?
(It's right Burning Pearl 100% FR? considered it gives +4Att, while the Fire Ring has only 100% FR ... and there's a small difference of const level)
