spiders' eyes
Actually, if the spider loses
one eye, the line says "lost an eye". But as they have eight of them, they shurely could "lose of couple of" them before becoming blinded.
The cyclops has only one eye to lose...
blinding elephants
.. it might be pure coincidence, but I'm under the impression the flyers which attack with claws (hawks, harpies) go for the head first and have an increased chance to inflict the "lost an eye" affliction. After all, their overall damage and chance to inflict "critical" damage is rather low, but I think I observed an extraordinarily amount of "picked eyes" with Pangaean harpies.
But it could be wishful thinking as well ..
