Actually, if the spider loses one eye, the line says "lost an eye". But as they have eight of them, they shurely could "lose of couple of" them before becoming blinded.
The cyclops has only one eye to lose...

If the spider has a rider (look at this, it rimes ) then all afflictions apply to rider - and rider has 2 eyes.
However if spider loses rider (no rime ) all afflictions are his own.

For example, if spider with rider gets diseased he will slowly lose his hp until the rider dies. After that a spider will remain healthy (and no disease!).
