hm i would appoint a rather unimportant but useful leader like a scout that you can send on a suicide mission after a couple of turns when you e.g. can summon your first ice devil / arch demon and make one of these then a prophet

Why would you want to make IceDevil a prophet for Abissia? They are best at raiding enemy provinces and annihating small armies, meaning they will operate most of the time behind enemy lines, if you are planing to wage agressive war. In such situation being prophet becomes major weakness, since it deminish both their hitpoints and fighting abilities. good reasons. what about making a vampire count a prophet ? if you use him for defense / reconquering of lost provinces one turn before you will most likely have high own dominion and so the extra hp are quite a boost . he most likely doesn't kill the entire enemy army but at least kills with luck parts of it and you can do it every turn without cost if the province is not farer away from your capitol than 3 provinces .
