Trying to experiment a little with alternative little used Pretenders (like the ones without feet), whom I think flight (tactical and strategic) would be useful on.
Obviously, boots of flying are out; I had thought that
maybe a Winged Helmet might do the trick, given that I read somewhere that it enabled flight during storms. Apparently though, it only lets units already flying to fly during storms, if what I had read is true at all.
Hmmm - does it allow a flyer to fly strategically when the global storm spell is in effect? What about Caelum's flyers that can fly during storms?
But I digress - I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get, say, an archmage or a Wyrm or a Naga or the like to fly.
With boots of flying out, am I correct in thinking that Stymphalian Wings (armor) and the flying carpet (misc) are the only ways to enable flight short of artifacts?
