But with Diabolic faith I have no idea why but I seem to be able to get a blood economy going easier than Micti...maybe its the need for micti sacrifice to spread dom, but everytime I play Mari blood I end up being able to forge 2 or 3 soul contracts before I have a serious use for the slaves in other areas.
The national troops are good, but the 1 move is shoddy and doesnt mix well with a flier culture of armies at all. Thats probably the hardest thing I have found so far, I tend to have large armies of devils and stuff but they have little back up in terms of being able to move about and respond.

hm i share your liking of marignons df blood mages they are very cheap . but unfortunately most of marignons national troops play just like ulm light in terms of resource costs / strat move
if they are not superior i always try to avoid strat 1 move units . so in the beginning you are limited to crossbowman and flaggelants i would say . but they don't work together too well . i guess your crossbows make higher friendly fire than enemy causalities
the knights of the chalice are in theory nice but first their price and later their capitol only status is too limiting .
if marignon DF would have holy pyre as starting spell like all other marignon themes . but that would be imbalanced in favour of marignon i think.
