Yes, definitely keeping it slow, and 96h quickhost from the beginning, with no alteration whatsoever.
I am personally offended by most houserules, but here's my suggestion for general guidelines:
Open diplomacy via email allowed, if a player is observed stalling two consecutive turns (that's at least 192 hours), he's turned AI via a masterpassword unless he notifies the rest.
Standard research, common events, indeps 6, no starting positions, victory by vp with a nice scattering of 1-3vp provinces.
These are my suggestions. However, short on time as I am, I'd loath to organize it.
And, as I said, I can't really provide a server. Anyone stepping forward voluntarily?
