Frankly, I don't care about that much, onyx amazons are the only ones I ever think to recruit, with their nightmare cavalry. Crystal amazons do have high prec, but their shortbows dont' have much penetration power.

i don't care about the amazon units but their leaders are great . especially the blood hunting ( garnet i think ) and the jade sorceresses are nice ( good researchers , good chance they can clamhoard ) . these 2 are my most liked amazon sorceresses and fortunately most often found too
