I have all the books by both authors. Eddings is, for the most part, boring, but he's not a *bad* author, unlike some I could mention. But, given a choice, I'd much rather read Martin. I sincerely doubt you'll find anyone that rates Eddings better than Martin, except perhaps an ignorant child somewhere. But if you're waiting on Martin's next work, there's nothing wrong with some mindless entertainment by Eddings.
