Good lord I have no idea what I've managed to do. After having problems with changing sound effects I reset everything back to the way it was... And nothing works anymore, it still crashes at 30% while loading sound effects.
Unable to load game file 4.map' (I have changed NONE of the maps, save-file maps, nor done anything with the maps directory or maps themselves)
Access Violation at address 0053527E in module "Starfury.exe". Read of address FFFFFFFC
And when trying to start a new game I get the following error:
Assertion failure (C\myvb\starfury\pgms\common\DSWaveFiles.pas line 200) This directory and file does not even appear to
exist on my machine, nor in the registry.
I will attempt uninstalling and reinstalling the game (yet again) to see if that helps.

What the absolute hell???
I've uninstalled the entire game, wiped the directory after backing up my work, and reinstalled from
scratch, and now the only games I can successfully start are the core missions. Not even the P&N mods, unaltered, will load!!!! The game crashes to the main menu before it even gets to the point of loading maps!!
